Fear of failure is powerful, and it it makes us believe that some of our best ideas are actually mistakes waiting to happen. It’s time we stopped falling victims to ourselves, and follow through on our good ideas!
Some of you may know this, others may not – I’ve written a new book called “The Bride’s Guide to Less Stress”.
All along, my thought has been it would be someone other than the bride who’d be buying it as a gift for the bride.
One day on my way to work, I had this fantastic idea!
Now, before I tell you about my idea, let me first ask you a question…
Have you ever thought of a great idea and then talked yourself out of pursuing it?
If you answered “yes” you’ll be glad to know you are not alone!
There are millions of people across the globe who fall victim to themselves.
One of my most favorite quotes of all time is from Les Brown (if you don’t know of him, YouTube him – he’s great!)
“The wealthiest place on earth is the cemetery. For it holds all the brilliant ideas never acted on, the inventions never made, & the artwork never created because it all went to the grave with those who are buried there.”
I know I’ve been guilty of not taking action on ideas far too many times. So, I decided I was going to follow through this time!
My Idea: Get some special covers of my book made that said: “Compliments of David’s Bridal” at the top and then see if they might want to partner with me.
When I did some research, I found out their corporate headquarters was only an hour’s drive away!
What helped get me moving was remembering the quote above from Les Brown.
What helped KEEP me moving was thinking about something I’d learned from Jack Canfield.
If you NEVER ask, you will know the answer is 100% of the time…
If you ASK, you double your chances – you now have a 50-50 chance!
In my owns words, I said to myself:
I’ve got nothing to lose & everything to gain!
So, at the end of last week, I drove over to David’s Bridal Headquarters and delivered 5 books, each with a letter inside with my contact information!
Now it’s your turn:
What can YOU NOW DO that you’ve been stopping yourself from doing? Let me know in the comment box below!
