I am so mad at myself right now…
I woke up suddenly in the middle of the night when I realized I didn’t pay one of my bills that was due yesterday.
Now, I am going to have to pay a late fee and WHY?
Because…
I waited until the last minute!
I started my morning with good intentions of paying the bill.
I had it written on my to do list, set it on my desk to take care, and I reminded myself that it was the 1st.
The rest of my day was spent doing cleaning, grocery shopping, yard work, and getting ready for company coming for dinner.
Between my desk in the morning and the rest of the day – it got LOST!
However, all that busyness is NO EXCUSE.
I wish I could say this was the first time I’d had this sort of thing happen – but it isn’t. Over the course of a year, I’d have to say this is the 3rd time.
Once I was awake & lying in bed, I started thinking about how I’d just “screwed up” again, I caught found myself asking this question:
‘When are you going to learn Carol?’
Then this popped in to my mind:
Don’t Wait Until the Last Minute!!!
My sharing this experience with you is this –
- So, you don’t feel like you’re the only one who screws up!
- It’s helping me to let go of the feelings.
- Most importantly, to help you learn from my experience!
- Share my plan to ensure this doesn’t happen again!
So, what is my plan?
Up until now, I’ve used the date a bill is due as the date to pay it. Which is what has gotten me in to trouble if I forget to pay it!
My plan moving forward is to STOP that practice & instead, pay my bills 3 days ahead of time.
This way, if I forget – I still have some time to get it paid so it ISN’T LATE and…
I’m NOT Waiting Until the Last Minute!
Do you have things that you wait on until the last minute? If so, share them with me in the comment box below.
